Grave Robber are a punk rock band who are definitely influenced by the Misfits. They also dress like it's Halloween every time they step on stage and that's always a good thing. I recently got to interview vocalist Wretched to learn more about them.
(TMR) Hello to to you from The Metal Resource Holland, how are things going there in Fort Wayne/USA ?
Quite well. It's pretty warm here weather-wise, tho. I'm more accustomed to cold, dark, damp environments.
(TMR) Will you Introduce yourself and the band please ! (name and instrument)
I'm Wretched the vokillist. Our guitarists is Lamentor. Our bassist is Carcass. Our drummer is Plague.
(TMR) Is this your first band, what other bands have you guys been in ? (for everyone personal)
All previous musical endeavors matter not.
(TMR) Can you tell us something about the origin of 'Grave Robber' ?
Grave Robber was predetermined in the mind of The Reanimator at The Void, Grave Robber was unleashed upon an unsuspecting, pre-apocalyptic Earth, A.D. 2005.
(TMR) Does the name 'Grave Robber' means something ? Is there a story behind the name ?
The name, "GRAVE ROBBER" holds a symbolic meaning by referencing the return of The Reanimator as the true grave robber, when as followers of Him we will be “raised as incorruptible, and we shall be changed” and “Death is swallowed up in victory”.
(TMR) Who writes the music/lyrics in 'Grave Robber' ? .. how do you get in the mood for writing music? And which bands/situations have influences you for writing music and lyrics ?
We do of course! No ghost writers here except for the Holy ghost!! We mainly get influence by the ancient scrolls, by classic horror films, the true horrors of this tainted world we live in, and by our favorite bands we are highly musically influenced by The Misfits, Alice Cooper, Type O Negative, Danzig, Black Sabbath, and Kiss.
(TMR) How do you describe the music of 'Grave Robber' the best ?
Horror punk/shock rock.
(TMR) How does 'Grave Robber' stands in life till events in the world, religion and politics and in which proportion stands that till your music and lyrics ?
We are followers of The Reanimator and that peppers our worldview. We are slaves to Him, not to man.
(TMR) For a lot of bands the lyrics are just a accidental circumstance, but for some bands they use them to communicate ! ..can you tell us how that is for 'Grave Robber' ?
We communicate much the same way the apostle Paul did. By using the language, art, poetry, and style of those we are communicating to. We are a horror band for horror fans.
(TMR) Is there a highlight you will always remember, since the beginning of 'Grave Robber' ?
Headlining the Underground Stage at Cornerstone Festival, releasing our first cd, releasing our second cd, and it's always memorable to see someone die to themselves and become reborn in The Reanimator!
(TMR) And the worst thing ? were ? (if there is one)
Unwashed costumes that have been sitting in the costume box for over a month and are still damp from month old sweat. Delicious!
(TMR) What is your favourite food and drink ? (no idea why people always want to know that)
We feast on the blood. We feast on the flesh.

Farts.
(TMR) How do you prepare for a show ?
We focus on preparing the stage in order to deliver the best show we can possibly perform. then we communicate with The Reanimator. After that. . . the devastation occurs!!

Horror. duh.
(TMR) What is the dumbest question you have ever been asked ?
What our favorite movies are.
(TMR) Do you have a life philosophy ?
Yes. Humans are created to have relationship with God, not created for religion. Humans are NOT designed to have strife, but peace that surpasses understanding. We are created to love and be loved by our Creator. Humans are eternal beings. You WILL go on after this life is over. It's up to you to decide where you spend that eternity. You can spend it either with God or without God.
(TMR) Are you visiting many gigs by yourself and what do you listen to these days? (for everyone personal)
There's not too much new music that's good these days. We are waiting for a band to come along and change that. Hmm. . . maybe we should do it!! (haha)
(TMR) What is your all-time album top 5 ? (for everyone personal)
Honestly, there's too many to list.
(TMR) Tell us about the metal scene in your area please?
Lame. There's a lot of bands that thinking they are good, but if they stepped outside of there local scene, they'd get eaten alive.
(TMR) What can you tell us about your latest album Inner Sanctum ?
We are pretty happy with it. The general response has been overwhelmingly positive, so we are pretty confident about the material.
(TMR) The album is released by 'Retroactive Records' . How did you get signed by them ?
I guess Matt Hunt liked us! haha!
(TMR) Did you played in Europe before ?
Not yet. You want to bring us over there?
(TMR) What more can we expect from 'Grave Robber' in the nearly future ?
More mayhem, more blood, more controversy, more boldness, more volume, and more cds!!
